A quilting bee.

quilting bee fabric

What can I say, I am fulfilling my dreams. haha. I have joined a quilting bee (more on it later) and it turns out that I am the first designer for the month of February. Well, really Erin was the first but she was not ready, and I was, so we switched months. I have been collecting pink and green fabrics to make a Log Cabin or Wonky Log Cabin quilt. Examples: here, here, here, here ,and here. There are so many out there. Just browse through flickr, it is a great source.

I can't wait to start. I just have to decide how to cut all of my fabrics to distribute to 17 people. How will I know how to cut it for this project? Any suggestions? Please?

The colors are so bright! I love it. I am glad you were ready to go because I have NO idea what I am going to do. You forgot to link to the quilting bee in your post! Oh, I guess I'd better get on making a button for it, then. :)

Great! I love log cabins and can't wait to start. I think a good rule of thumb is to cut fat quarter sized pieces of fabric in half so that they're 11"x18" ... and in half again so that you're sending pieces that are 9"x11" (assuming that you'll send each person 4 or 5 pieces each). Also, be sure to indicate if you're OK (or not) with people adding in coordinating fabrics from their stash.

Thanks John. That is what I needed.

I'm glad you're going first too, I'm up second, but only have two tentative ideas, and no fabric in my stash for either. I've never done a quilting bee before.

I think John is giving good advice. Bee-yoo-tee-ful fabrics you got there! I'm getting really excited to see them arrive in the mail.
