Pillows!

Well another round of the Pillow Talk Swap over on flickr has finished and I am just so happy! I love the pillow that I made for my partner and I love the one I received.

My partner was Lisa and from her mosaic and list of favorite fabrics I came up with a design that had alot of negative space since that is what I gathered from her mosaic that she liked. Then I knew she loved the Mermaid fabric & Farmdale fabric.

Swimming with Mermaids - 174:365

Mermaids Swimming is what I call this pillow and it is a large one at 24"x24". I had alot of fun quilting wavy lines to get the feel of waves and I used 3 different colored thread which you can see better in this photo.

PTS5 Pillow

The back is also the Kona Coal which Lisa said is her favorite solid. I used a zipper so that it is nice and snug.

Quilted waves

Then yesterday I received my pillow! I was so happy to find out that my partner was Hollie who I had had as my secret partner in another swap (Savvy Seasons Swap). This is the first time that has happened to me and it is alot of fun. She sent me a gorgeous pillow! She found out some of my favorite fabrics, colors, and knew that I loved scrappy.

Frog Prince Pillow

She sent me some great extras (some of my favorite fabrics) along with the pillow form to go inside the pillow which was just sooo nice!

PTS5 Received

This was the 5th round of the Pillow Talk Swap and I have been in all of them and love this swap! IT is just so fun to make pillows and to receive one from someone who has tried and succeeded in making you something you will love.

Both pillows are lovely! But, I really adore the quilting on your mermaids pillow. What a nice thought to use different shades of thread. It's beautiful!
