Shopping trip to Purl

went to the warehouse for Purl Soho

I went with my Orange County Quilt Guild to go shopping at the warehouse for Purl Soho. They have it here in Tustin open to the public Tuesday - Friday from 10am - 2pm. It was so amazing to go and see all the gorgeous fabrics all lined up in the warehouse.

Purl Soho warehouse in OC

Here are some of there stacks for their Color Wheel quilt from their book. Which I do own and have made the elephant softie from.

One side of the warehouse is for the fabric and the other is their yarn, books & floss.

rows of string

They had the whole line from Alexander Henry's line Farmdale that I have been dying to get a hold of the Blossoms. I was able to get them in the colors I wanted and then we also picked out some fabric for Gweniveve's Blue quilt that she has begged me to make for her. Had you seen the Kokka Cinderella fabric before? I had not and it is just sooooo perfect for Gweniveve. Blue and Cinderella are her 2 favorite things.

My loot

Here are just some of us from the guild that made it.

My daughter's went with us to but were not in the mood for pictures as there was to much stuff to look at. Gwenie just wanted to hold her fabrics and talk to everyone about how she got the blue dogs and blue Cinderella fabric!

Orange County Modern Quilt Guild

I joined the OCMQG today and they have a meeting tonight!

Visit Orange County Modern Quilt Guild

I am so excited yet nervous. I want to meet people that quilt and sew like I do since they are hard to find here in Orange County. I will try not to be nervous so that I can talk to people and take my camera so that I can get some great photos for all of you. I am deciding what to take to sew & tell?!?!?!?!? Any ideas??? My WIPS are:

My Amy Butler quilt for my Cal King Bed. I am still trying to find someone who has a long arm quilter to quilt this for me.

My Sew Connected 3 quilting bee quilt that I have all pieced together with a large orange dot border that is all basted and ready to quilt. I just haven't got around to quilting it yet. This is only half of the quilt, the other half is over the fence.
