Scrappy Hoop Swap

I finished my scrappy hoop for my partner. If you remember I made this one but then decided that it wasn't her. After much thought I decided something like this was her.

Girl under a button tree hoop

I embroidered the girl from this book. I then used this as inspiration to my tree which I just love and will be doing alot more of.

Then the back I hot glued to the hoop so that it had the finished look and add one of my labels that I made myself.

I will be mailing it out to my partner soon. I can't wait for her to get it. It is a hilarious story about who my partner is!

Then I received mine in the mail from Alexandra ( asquared ) I was so surprised to receive 3 hoops since the swap only asked you to make 1, but she thought of me and my 2 girls. Aren't they the best hoops?

I put them in the girls room above their bookshelf. I really need to get them a new one that is larger their books are overflowing and I just found out about these books and really want to buy them for their room.

I do have to say swaps can be really awesome when you do them. They are alot of work and most of the time it is worth it. You get great partners, like Alexandra, who make you amazing things. I have been fortunate to get some great partners. Sometimes it doesn't work out and that happens (to be honest) swaps can be a hit or miss but luckily I have always loved my stuff that I make for someone and the things that I have received have been perfect.

Birthday Crafts.

I have been super busy this last week, getting ready all the projects that I wanted to sew for my daughter's birthday. I decided to try something new and work with felt! I have decided that I love it. It is so easy to work with.

I made this Princess/Elmo/Birthday Hat for my daughter. She loves everything Elmo, hence the hat being in Elmo colors.

Birthday Hat

I used this tutorial. I realized that the hat is a little big, but then she can wear it for years to come!

Then I decided, somewhat at the last minute, to make a Happy Birthday banner with all the left over felt. Well, I knew that I wanted to use ric rac (love it) and embroider but that was about it. This is what I came up with.

for my daughter

I was thinking of maybe posting a tutorial of how to make this, what do you think??

Happy close-up

It is really long, I had to find some interesting ways to photograph it.

Birthday

Well everything turned out great and I was really happy with everything. My daughter really didn't want to wear the hat so I gave her a cookie so she would sit still.
